It would be nice if we could “lock” a workflow annotation once it has been created in the workspace. Presently, if I click the whitespace of the annotation mistakenly while selecting a node(s), the whole annotation will move. It’s a pain. A lock would prevent the annotation from moving.
Hi @scapuzzi -
Thanks for the feedback! This is a feature that we’ve seen a few requests for, and we have an open ticket for it (AP-11857). I’ll add a +1 to that ticket from you.

Hi,
Currently when i have multiple tools on the annotation space, it’s hard to select couple tools using click and drag functionality. Is there possibility to lock annotation, or make the background not interactive (so click and drag would select multiple nodes and not move annotation)?
There was a ticket created for similar feature, has this been implemented?
Hi @Piotr_S -
Not yet. I’ll go ahead and merge this thread with the existing one you found. Everyone who voted here, please make sure you also vote on that thread as well.
Hi @Piotr_S,
Yes, this is already possible in Modern UI, at least during the selection. If you perform a selection and press the SHIFT key, nodes and annotations are locked.
Thank you @schramm , when Modern UI is planned to be implemented as the standard layout?
Hi @Piotr_S Modern UI was already introduced as the default perspective with the AP 5 release.
This has been Bothering me a lot as well
Where is the vote button for this?
I will start off by saying I love how the Annotation boxes render, I like the choices for fonts, colors, etc., BUT they are unusable!!
Sorry but shift-clicking when selecting anything in the Annotation box is counter intuitive. How about shift-clicking to interact with the annotation box.
@schramm Why would you change the behavior on something you do 99% of the time (interact with nodes) so you can accommodate something you use 1% of the time (Annotations)? Please flip the functionality of shift-clicking or simply but a lock icon on the upper bar area.
