Not everyone in the companies have access to the SQL Server. Therefore they can’t use the data tables of the company and query in real time. However, they have access to the cube reports that are created on SSAS.

Workers who don’t have access to the SQL servers, can use a SSAS node to open the cube reports on Knime and use dynamic datas, instead of Excel Imports.

Also PowerBi XMLA endpoints would be great too.

You’ve got valid argument there and I have noted your request in existing ticket (Internal reference: AP-16218). Upon any news someone will update this topic. In the meantime here is topic that might help you out get your data from SSAS to KNIME:

@ajc can you explain this a bit more? How is this related and would XMLA endpoint support allow sending data from Power BI datasets into KNIME or?

Ivan, you can add another 1 for me. Currently I have to manually compile Excel multy-sheet file based on SSAS data.

Another upvote for me.

SSAS OLAP cubes are huge in my organization and I’ve seen them used in other large organizations in my industry.

Being able to access them directly in KNIME would be a huge timesaver, enable a lot of new analysis, and help us with reporting process automation.
