This provides a manually triggered shortcut to open folders and files (in their native software) relative to the workflow folder location. Unless the user goes into the configuration window and toggles the “checkbox” setting, the component remains in bypass mode and takes no action.
It can float on its own separate of the workflow data / variable connections, or the file / folder location can be passed to it by flow variable. Either way the functionality will not persist between runs. The component will enter bypass mode and require a configuration change in order to trigger it again.
I find this useful for easy access to things that require only occasional use like data folders, support documents and excel controller settings.
