Files in knime.tempDir

Hello,

as I cannot find anything about this I wanted to ask here.
We have a Knime Server with Excecuter and set the knime.tempDir to /knime/temp which is a volume separated from the root volume.
Over the time, this directory takes up more an more space. We just wanted to know, if it is save to delete file from the knime.tempDir if there are no job or no executer running.

Based on this prior discussion, I think that any old files should be fine to delete from that location.
