I am using the google Ads nodes to extract data from our google ads accounts.
Last week I got an email from google, that our account is currently using API version 18 for google ads and that version 18 will be deprecated by google very soon.
What API version are the knime nodes using in the background? I did not see any info on this within KAP (using 5.5.1).
We aim to keep the extension aligned with the latest Google Ads API version. So if you have the latest extension installed, you’re covered.
That said, it would definitely help if this information were more explicit in each KNIME Analytics Platform release. For example, you can already check extension details by going to: Help → About KNIME Analytics Platform → Installation Details, and then searching for google.
I’ll create a ticket to add the API version information directly there, so it’s easier to find at a glance.
What’s a bit odd to me is that if you’re running 5.5.1, you shouldn’t be receiving deprecation emails from Google. Are you authenticating with your own Google Cloud project? I’d be curious to hear more about that setup (of course, without sharing any confidential details).
Hi,
thanks for your answers, that clears it all up.
A few months ago, I was testing (some pretty old) python integration, maybe that one used an older API Version; at least that would explain it.
Why google still says “recently”, when it was months ago still is a bit off, I think.
But as long as the google Ads Nodes are current as long as I use a current KAP Version, then it’s all fine.
