Headers in CSV Writer introduce unwanted spaces

Using the CSV Writer node with the comment header option, introduces some additional space characters at the beginning of each comment line (which actually messes with the functionality of the file, and I have to edit them out from the header manually). I actually found a post dating back to 2012, complaining about the same thing! Has this not been fixed in the meantime? Is there another way around this?

Thanks for reporting this issue!

There is currently no way around this, but I have created a ticket to make the indentation optional.

Hi @pipetman,

we just fixed the issue. In the KNIME 4.1.0 release you will be able to configure the indentation in each line, e.g. remove the spaces or prefix the line with some custom String.
