How to install extensions from zip Archive org.knime.update.analytics-platform_3.6.0 ?

Dear KNIME’ers,

I tried to install extensions by using the “Install extensions …” button in KNIME 3.6.0, however this lead to the following error messages:
Some sites could not be found. See the error log for more detail.

So I downloaded alternatively the full zip Archive org.knime.update.analytics-platform_3.6.0
which you offer instead. The question is now how can I install part of these extensions from that archive. It seems that simply copying the needed files into the KNIME directories won’t do?
Something like an installer is needed or what has to be do to make it running?
(in my case KNIME base package is simply installed from a zip Archive on Windows without installer)

we you can find additional information about the process here: Extensions and Integrations Guide.

I’ll quote the most interesting part:

If your working environment has limited internet access, another option for installing KNIME extensions is available. To access this additional dialog use the File → Preferences → Install/Update → Available Software Sites command. This tool has a different interface that allows update sites to be manually specified. Clicking “Add…” will allow you to either manually specify the URL of the KNIME Update Site or use the offline (.zip) version of the Update Site to customize your KNIME Analytics Platform installation. Note: It is important not to unzip the archived KNIME Update Site file prior to specifying it as an update source for KNIME.
