How to show Perspective Bar?

I am a newbie trying to come to terms with documentation that doesn't match what I see on my screen (KNIME 2.11.3).  I have no Perspective Bar, no Open Perspective button, and no Window menu. The only way I have found to switch perspectives is using hyperlinks in the inline Help.

How do I make these controls visible, please?

They are hidden on purpose because KNIME doesn't have more than one perspective (except if you installed the report designer).
