I have installed Knime on my PC but I get an error in the KnimeBrowserView

Hi,

I’m starting to learn how to use Knime. I managed to install it on my desktop PC. The program opens correctly (I put it in classic mode). But when I go to drag a node to the screen it doesn’t appear and won’t let me. In the Knime Console it gives me this warning:

Log file is located at: C:\Users\Usuario\knime-workspace.metadata\knime\knime.log
ERROR KnimeBrowserView Local storage item for key ‘knime-ui-settings’ couldn’t be accessed

I don’t understand what’s wrong with the program. I don’t know why something seems wrong. If you could advise I would greatly appreciate it. I am a student who is starting to learn how to use it. In theory the newly installed programs should work fine. I don’t understand why he does that.

Hi @Dario_G,

kind of an odd problem. What node do you want to drag & drop into Knime? Also how did you install Knime, via the installer or just by extracting it from the archive?

During the installation process I recall there is a step where you are asked if you want to enable Knime to alter it’s installation folder. A setting which you should enable, otherwise installing extensions would fail.
