Issue using Report extension

I am a brand new user, I am trying to make a chart off of my imported excel data. I believe I have set up the Pivoter and Sorter properly, but when I try to choose my data in the report extension I am not seeing any of the pivots I set up in the X-Y category selections. Any idea where I may have missed a step? Sorry if this is extremely basic
