Is it just me or do I not fully understand the versioning system of these releases?
@MartinDDDD OK so this is something like a maintenance update for an older version 
Yes - I think what adds to the confusion is having this announced like a 5.10 (i.e. “true” new release)
Clarification on Versioning:
Since version 5.6, we have updated how we categorize our releases. Because v5.3 is an older version, it follows our previous maintenance model.
To make things clearer for everyone going forward, we will now separate our announcements: Long-Term Support (LTS) for those requiring a “pinned” stable environment, patch/stability releases and our Latest Feature releases for those wanting the newest updates.
Sorry for any confusion—we’re committed to making our roadmap as transparent as possible.
@swaraj_singh I thought the 5.8.x was the LTS stable version?
and? nothing too uncommon to define another LTS version (5.8) after a few iterations of an existing LTS (5.3), while still supporting the previous LTS.
might have been that 5.3 was the last compatible version to work with the old Knime Server, before depreciation for the HUB instead of similar
