KNIME Business Hub - User access level

Hi all,

We recently got a customer raising a concern about the access level on KBH, at a Team level.

Currently, we can have administrator and member. But a member can pretty much do everything ( KNIME Server to KNIME Hub Migration Guide | KNIME Documentation )

Their point is that it would be great for a user to have access to upload a workflow on the KBH within a Team and Space, but then, an extra level of access which defines who can create deployments. A user could upload workflows… But not necessarily creating deployments (schedules etc)

I think that could be done using CDDS, but for some companies, this is not applicable with their internal processes.

Any thoughts?
Maybe could we open a feature request?

Thanks

Cheers

Jerome

Hi @trj,

did you publish your feature request unintentionally in the wrong forum category and meant to publish it maybe in Feedback & Ideas?

Hi Jerome,

you could use workflow validation (Workflow Validation | KNIME Documentation) to only allow deployments of workflows that are approved. In your case, this could also mean to only allow deployments of certain users.

Does this fit your use case?

Hi Roland,

Thanks for the suggestion.
I think I will work on that and see if that might solve their issues.

But it is an extra work to setup and train the customers. With a new user level (upload, no deployment), this is much easier to configure.

Cheers
