I have just updated to 5.2.3, and now the app doesn’t start at all. It is stuck on the loading screen (as seen in the print screen). I saw on another topic the suggestion to unninstall and install it again, however I’m afraid to lose the workflows I’ve been working on.
I haven’t exported them in a while, but searching on my files, I found the directory C:\Users\xxxx\knime-workspace that has all my workflows, but not in the .knwf extension.
So I have two main questions:
Is there anything to do besides uninstalling?
If there isn’t, how can I backup my workflows without entering the app and exporting them?
Thanks a lot, these workflows are really important for a project I’m working on
Can you check whether there is a pop-up that asks you to choose a knime workspace? Sometimes it gets hidden for me when I click around and then I wonder what takes so long…
If that is not the cause: You should be safely able to uninstall - as you already identified all your workflows are stored in your knime-workspace folder. That they don’t have the .knwf or .knar extension is OK - you only have those if you export a workflow (.knwf) or a workflow folder (.knar).
Once you re-install you can simply select the same folder as your workspace and you will have all your workflows back.
You could also simply download one of the .zip versions of KNIME, unzip it, start the knime.exe and then pick the same workflow… that way you could ensure everything is back in order before uninstalling the potentially broken installation.
