Knime Pro: Execution credits explanation for billing

Hi friends

I am using Knime Pro on a 60-day trial. This trial allows for 60 days of use and includes 2,000 credits.

My question is the following: When the trial plan ends, I know the plan will cost $21 per month.

My doubt is regarding the credits.

  1. Will an additional amount be charged on top of the fee that is already billed? In other words, will the plan always start with 0 credits?, and I will be charged $0.05 per use, or does the $21 fee already guarantee a balance of 100 or 200, or 1000 credits…?

If I recall correctly it was said during the webinar last week that the EUR 21 includes credits for I think 2 hours worth of execution credits?

So I guess that is 120 credits per month x 0.05 / credit = EUR 6 of the 21 go toward execution. Once you exceed 120 you probably get billed the excess.

Thank you for the information, it is understood.

Would you advise that I wait for a more official response from another member of this forum? Or should I consider this information to be accurate?

I’m sure someone from the KNIME team will chip in and validate

Hello hello,

Gergely here. I’m happy you are already thinking about what comes after the early access!

I need to start with a disclaimer: based on feedback and our experience during the early access period the exact package and pricing might still change.

What I can already share with you is:

  • The €21 / month subscription price might go a bit lower.
  • We are planning to include credits in the package: 120 to be exact (can’t be carried over between months).
  • We are also examining the credit price itself, €0.05 is what we have on the Team plan already.

In short: Martin was correct

Btw: I am very much open to any feedback, suggestions, ideas around pricing (or anything else regarding Pro). So if you have any please email / message me and let’s have a quick chat.

Hello friend,

Thank you very much for the information. The same was mentioned by Martin :fist_right: :dizzy: :fist_left:

First, I would like to congratulate you on the idea of Knime Pro.

The ability to share workflows with colleagues in an organized and versioned way is the best thing that could have happened. I will definitely be a subscriber.

Regarding the pricing, 2,000 credits were provided for the trial. In the beginning, I made quite a few mistakes. I would try to run a workflow and it would error out several times, yet I’ve only used 142 credits (in one week of use). I used the simplest tier (8GB).

I have made 3 workflows available to the team, but I intend to share more.

I’m estimating that in my first month, my workflows will use a total of 400 credits.

Considering the plan includes 120 credits, there would be an exceed.

Making a brief comparison, Power BI Pro costs $14. But they are different concepts (I know).

My one suggestion would be to also offer an option for an Annual plan (with a bigger discount, e.g., $15), which could come with the benefit of more credits, e.g., 240 credits.

Since we are dealing with individual users, not companies, what the user would like is a plan that fits their budget, without surprise or excess charges.

I understand that an adjustment is needed so that the price is fair for both the user and Knime.

In any case, congratulations on the idea.

Great feedback! Thank you very much!
It’s a good insight into how you (and maybe many others) think about budgeting for our tool.
