KNIME Reporting: How to set page headers and footers?

Dear all,

I’m using KNIME Reporting KNIME Reporting – KNIME Community Hub to create simple reports: Just print one table to pdf.
Doesn’t sound complicated and I mostly got it already.
My report has a header (of the report) and also a footer (of the report). Furthermore the report has a header (of the table) on every page. That comes out of the box, I had no work in defining that. Also great.
Now I would be even more happy if I have also a footer for every page containing e.g. information about page number, print / generation date and author information. At the moment nothing is printed in the footer.

In the layout editor of the component I’m able to add a text view before and after the table. But that shows up on the first page and the last page only :frowning:

How can I add both a header and footer for each side?

BTW: The table footer is located direct under the last row of the table. In most cases that is somewhere in the middle of a page. Good enough would be great to have also a possibility to define manually.

Hello @knimediger,

Unfortunately you cannot add headers or footers yet. However we already have a ticket up for this functionality to be added.

Ticket UIEXT-2286

I will add a +1 to it for you,

@thor_landstrom

Thank you for your sincere answer and for adding a “+” for that feature request.

Looking at the KNIME Reporting – KNIME Community Hub it’s a bit of disappointing to hear that such a basic feature is not yet available in this tool.
From my understanding having something like a page number, header and footers is a must in reporting. When you have a printout on your desk and a little bit of wind comes through the window, how can you rearrange the printed report in the correct order? How can you convince your quality manager that such a report is fulfilling the requirements of a QM (e.g. ISO9001)?
