KNIME Server Tomcat 7 - Update

I am currently running KNIME Server version 4.7.X with Tomcat 7.
our IT has informed me that as Tomcat 7 is no longer supported I will need to upgrade.

  1. What version can I upgrade to?
  2. What is the easiest way to do this?

Regards
James

Hi James,

Currently, we are not using Tomcat 7 but TomEE 7.0.5, which is based on Tomcat 8.5.x, so no need to worry!

Hi Roland, ok so as Tomcat 7 needs to be upgraded on the server as it is at end of life and no longer supported by Redhat , will our KNIME server (4.7.3) run on an upgraded app server? what is the easisest way to upgrade , do I need to install the latest version of KNIME server or do I install TomEE 7.0.5?

James

Hi James,

Your KNIME Server is already running on TomEE 7.0.5 (maybe 7.0.4, but this shouldn’t matter here). It is certainly not running on Tomcat 7, since this is not supported by us at all (never was). So really, no need to change anything here.

That being said, we just put out KNIME Server 4.10.3, which adds a ton of cool features on top of what you have right now. So that alone should be an incentive to upgrade

Cheers,
Roland
