Lost my project and unable to create any new one

Dear all,
I was working on a workflow yesterday and regularly saved my work.
As my PC was slow, I decided to close all apps and restart it.

when I launched again Knime, my workflow disappeared. On the right part of the main Knime window, my workflow was not listed. I run a search on all my machine and could not find it. I even restored the bin. But this workflow totally disappeared.

I switched off my PC.

This morning I decided to create a new workflow and re-do my all job.
But Knime refuses to create a new workflow. No error message.
I also tried to open an existing workflow and again, no response.

I am using version 5.4.3.

Could anyone tell me what could cause this behaviour?
many thanks
Esmé

I have no idea what might have created this problem. Others with more sophisticated understanding of KAP’s inner workings can weigh in. I’ve run into similar stone walls in the past. The brute force fix which has always worked is to do a new install, preferably from a zip install to a new location. Then point your new installation to your existing workspace. I assume your workspace is local. Cloud locations have created problems.

@Esme61 maybe you can provide us with a log file that could show what is happening

Hi @rfeigel @mlauber71
thank you both for your answers.
3 days ago I cleaned up all files in Appdata, I reinstalled Knime locally but on another location and started my workflow all over again.
I am saving my job very frequently just to make sure not to lose anything.

I wanted to ask you : I’d like to save a backup of my workflow on another disk.
If I do an export, only the knwf file is exported. 1) is exporting the solution to save a backup of a workflow ? 2) what about the other files?
thank you so much.
Esmé

@Esme61 here are approaches how to create a backup system

Hi @mlauber71, thank you very much for your answer. I’m looking for a solution within Knime capacities. Many thanks
Esmé

@Esme61 yes this is from within knime

Hi @mlauber71, thanks for your help. I meant I do not wish to pay for this workflow. Reading the Atmedia page, I understood there is a fee. I can’t afford it.

@Esme61 I read nothing about costs. But if you really need such a backup you might be inclinded to read the resources provided.
