It would be really helpful if you can implement the automatic alignment or at least the horizontal alignment of Nodes in Modern UI.
By the time my workflows get messy and in the classic UI the “Clean Up” was quickly done. Now I need to move every Node by hand.

This is a feature that we already have planned (NXT-1507). Sadly, though, I cannot give an estimate or a timeline just now.
If you have any ideas how we can improve upon the classic UI feature, or parts that you particularly liked about it feel free to let us know

I know you guys are working hard on the improvements of Modern UI. But is the an update on this topic? Would be great to rearrange the nodes easily.

Still have to elaborate but right now I would aim at having at least horizontal and vertical alignment tools in the summer release (and, of course, in nightlies as soon as it’s done).
Regarding auto-layout we’ll need to do a bit of research what we can improve over the algorithm we have right now and how much we want to provide ad-hoc vs. iterate in incremental improvements. Most simple case would be the same algorithm with maybe a couple of small adjustments. That would also be somewhat realistic for the summer release.
Our focus currently lies elsewhere but align and autolayout comes right after.
