Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has developed a simple method for running multiple expressions in string manipulation (ideally based on a table/excel sheet) without nesting or recursive loops
I would like to do replaces just like in the following post:
Hello,
i am wondering how to add more than one expression in string manipulation? for example in this Node expression i wrote:
replace($colnameA$, "abcde","test1","w");
replace($colnameA$, "fghhi", "test2", "w")
and execute, then i gote warning "invalid settings: unable to compile expression"
does anyone can help me to fix this problem? Thanks a lot!
Kai
Would this be possible with the rule engine (dictionary) node?
Thanks!
Hi KNIMEadventurer77
For this, I’d trying using the Column Expressions node
you can do nesting in String manipulation:
replace(replace($colnameA$, "abcde","test1","w"), "fghhi", "test2", "w")
bascially use the output of the function as input in second function. But it’s not nice and only goes so far.

Hi everyone,
I need some help finding a better way to search a cell with a string+wildcards and when it gets a match, replacing the entire entry with what I want.
I have a table with a list of disease names that I need to clean up. Below is an example of the sort of thing I am doing.
Current method:
String replace node with “huntington disease”
Input:
huntington disease
huntington disease HD
huntington disease and associated diseases
Output:
huntington disease
huntington disease
