I do not find the node “path to string”.
My Knime version is 4.2.
The latest version is 4.4.1

How do I know if this node is existing already in 4.2?

I’ve installed 4.4.1. The node exists.

The KNIME Hub page for that node has an explicit link to the File Handling guide, which has all the relevant information. Did you read it?
I think Thoru is suggesting explicitly including which version of KNIME the node first appears in on the Hub, which I think is a good suggestion. That being said, I’m like 99% sure the Path to String node existed prior to version 4.4, so I’m not sure if there was something wrong in Thoru’s install.
Would be great to have a release date and first release version of an node sometimes.
