Out now: KNIME Analytics Platform 5.8

Many virtual machines lack GPU pass-through or proper graphics acceleration, making WebGL visualizations either fail completely or render extremely slowly. Ongoing support for a non-WebGL fallback would ensure KNIME remains usable for analysts working in VM restricted environments (for example, in many small orgs IT doesn’t allow scripts/batch jobs on machines with direct access to corporate data/shared drives—VMs are an alternative that isolates analytics while maintaining database access). This directly impacts tool selection. If KNIME can’t handle VM setups well in the long term, it simply becomes a less viable option.
