Poorer performance of new KNIME nodes (5.X) compared to classic nodes (4.X)

We’ve noticed the new KNIME nodes such as the “Column Renamer” are slower to use than the classic “Column Rename” nodes. For most of these new 5.X nodes with the modern UI it takes significantly longer (1-2 seconds) to open the node configuration than the 4.X nodes with classic UI (instant) .

Is this issue known? Is there any improvement expected?

Hey @RKrom,

which version of KNIME are you using?
We had some performance problems when you had a bunch of columns in the new dialogs. This should have been fixed with 5.2.
If you are still on 5.1 could you maybe try if 5.2 fixes the problem for you already?

I’ve also checked the behavior in 5.2.3 it also takes about 1-2 seconds before the node configuration can be used.
