I would like to ask about the usage limits of K-AI on KNIME. If I am using the Standard or Enterprise (paid) version, will there still be a limit on AI interactions?
Right now, I see the message:
“Exceeded 20 of 20 monthly AI interactions used”
This appeared yesterday (October 1st), even though I have been using KNIME Analytics for about 20 days already.
My questions are:
Does this limit apply even for paid versions?
When will this interaction limit reset — at the beginning of every month, or after 30 days of usage?
With Standard and Enterprise version you (the Hub admin) can configure your own K-AI backend (e.g. your Azure OpenAI) in the Hub and with that the users get unlimited access to K-AI interactions.*
Does this help? Let me know if you have any further questions, comments,…

* at the moment K-AI can only be configured for enterprise, but we’ll change that with one of the next releases to also enable basic and standard customers to configure a K-AI backend.
I understand that you need to keep an eye on costs but this renders K-AI basically useless. 20 interactions? Seriously? That is absolutely nothing in the AI space.
Plus, it is not transparent how this is calculated. I for example had one request today (first one in months) and obviously K-AI deemed my ETL question so complicated that with that one question all 20 “AI interactions” were gone.
Is there some other way? Do you eventually offer an MCP server that could be integrated e. g. in Claude or something comparable? Because, again, with that low number, no one can seriously use K-AI at all.

Helloho
We’ve checked numbers and the vast majority of our users who used K-AI frequently were below 20, so we thought that’s a fair number. Having that said, we’ll of course continue to observe what’s going on - if 20 interactions is basically too low to do anything at all as you stated, then we need to switch to a different number or model (e.g. daily vs. monthly).
Give us a bit more time to get more data

@kowisoft just checked with the team, you ran into the limit not because of your single interaction, but because you’re part of a free team since a while and we didn’t up the limit for your free team - other team members seem to have taken already taken the interactions. We’ve upped to limit for your free team - you shouldnt run into issues anymore. Sorry for the hassle…
Also, starting this Wednesday we’ll automatically select the team with the highest limit in order to process a call…
