The 2024 KNIME COTM Hall of Fame inductees gathered in Germany last week for a day recognizing each for their outstanding contributions to the KNIME open-source community over the past 12 months.
We flew them in from all corners of the globe – across Europe and as far away as India and Japan. In all 11 of the 18 COTMs (Contributor of the Month) traveled to our Berlin office for the celebrations, which included a pre-COTM Day boat tour of the city on October 6 followed by a traditional German dinner.
October 7 COTM Day highlights included exclusive meetings with KNIME developers, KNIME co-founder and CEO Michael Berthold, an award ceremony, two back-to-back panel discussions, sumptuous catered meals, cold beverages – and general merriment.
How are COTMs selected for this prestigious honor?
Community members like you – along with KNIME staff (a.k.a. “KNIMErs”) submit nominations for the person who has contributed the most to the KNIME community that month. The person with the most votes becomes Contributor of the Month (COTM). They are bestowed with a special digital badge on the KNIME forum, a shoutout on KNIME’s social accounts and in our monthly newsletter – they also receive a physical trophy at the annual in-person COTM Day celebration at one of our offices in Germany.
The process begins with the COTM Candidate Proposal form. It’s a relatively quick and easy process. The most important field asks why you are proposing this candidate as COTM along with links to relevant KNIME community contributions.
Congratulations once again to our 2024 KNIME COTM Hall of Fame inductees!
