Then I’ve tried to continue with the remaining nodes and stuck again with the Joiner node configuration. Appreciate if you could help me share the configuration so I can redo the joiner node. Thank you! @takbb
I feel your pain, @trafalgarlaw , having now opened the flow in KNIME AP 4.7.8.
Long story short… it was soon clear to me that describing all the necessary replacements was going to be far too involved, and you are correct that the new Joiner nodes when ported back to 4.7.8 from 5.3.3 won’t even let you open the config. I hadn’t realised that this would be the case, assuming that if they weren’t seen as “missing” then they would at least be configurable, but sadly not.
So I ported it myself with all the necessary node replacements and required reconfig. Please download the version created for 4.7.8 (which will also work in 5.x) uploaded here:
Thank you so much, @takbb! It worked!! Really our superhero!!
One last question but more on curiosity, how do you convert your workflow from 5.3 and 4.7.8 then able to send or export it? new knowledge for me or everyone who doesnt know still
I have KNIME 4.7.8 installed too* and I did what you did i.e. I imported my 5.3.3 workflow from the hub. I then made all the changes manually to the nodes which were missing/no longer working (Row filters, splitters, joiners). Of course I had a working version in 5.3.3 to compare with so it was easier for me.
I then saved and uploaded the version from 4.7.8 to the hub.
Would be nice if KNIME had a way to set “compatibility level” so you could use the nodes from a given older version, and save that way but sadly it doesn’t. I guess it could become rather bloated if it did.
Glad to hear it finally worked for you and thanks for marking the solution!
(*You can have different versions of KNIME AP installed on the same machine as long as you install them by download and extracting the zip files from the KNIME downloads site. If you use the installers, I think you can still only have a single version installed. I never ever use the installers! )
