Remove the last character of a string

Hi Guys, I am trying to remove the last character of a string column, but I am unable to so. Basically what I want is this:

IDENTIFICATION IDENTIFICATION_MOD
34441542 3444154
93871934 9387193
20293 2029
30194910311 3019491031

I know that it seems like a double column, but is a String, the R code is the following

knime.out <- knime.in
teststring <- knime.in$"IDENTIFICATION"
teststring<-as.character(teststring)
substr(teststring, 1, nchar(teststring)-1)<- teststring
teststring<- as.factor(teststring)
knime.out<-teststring

But I get an error.. I am attaching the workflow

Thank you

Hi mau,

You can do this in a similar fashion using the String Manipulation node, see attached workflow.

Cheers,

Roland

Thank you definitely a lot more easier
