Salesforce certification path error

When connecting to a SF org (only after the first time), I get the following error in browser:
“Authentication failed. PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target”

I then see “unable to find valid certification path to requested target” over the authentication node in Knime.

I can otherwise auth to the org, for example, with workbench. I’ve tried clearing credentials.

Any thoughts?

Specifics:
Using Custom Domain
Selected “OAuth2 Interactive Authentication (via browser)”
storage → Memory
Production Instance

Nevermind. I found the issue, but I’ll leave the issue here in case others find it.

My company VPN had disconnected.
