I just discovered in KNIME 5.3.2 (and this may exist in earlier releases), that if I search the node palette for something that returns no results, I get a button appearing that allows me to send the search directly to the Community Hub.
This opens the results in a browser window, from which I could then navigate and drop a component back onto my KNIME desktop.
e.g.
It occurs to me, that this could be a very quick shortcut to components on the KNIME hub, so I’d like to suggest making the “Search on KNIME Community Hub” button permanently available, rather than it being a “button of last resort” when all the search has found no results.
i.e. I’d like to be able to just do this:
So clicking the button would issue the search to the hub, whereupon I could choose the Components, or Nodes filter or whatever and quickly get to the required page.
This functionality already exists in Classic UI in the form of the hub panel.
As this functionality is already baked into Modern UI, can we have the button made available… please… !
