Here’s my solution. Only tricky part is handing the diagonals when calculating the maximum correlation.

The value of the start date of aggregation for each currency is set as 1 in the line chart.

In addition, any period of time can be selected for aggregation.

Hello Knimers,

here’s my solution to the challenge:

  • Heatmap to emphasise stongest positive correlations between currencies;
  • Table summarising all correlation results calculated;
  • Filter widgets
    • Date interval selection
    • Currency checklist
  • Double line chart:
    • With normal values
    • Values corrected with log(), since the Japanese Yen has much higher values compared to other currencies’ ones.

Have a nice evening,
Raffaello

I see several post solutions, and study some missing values methods to complete the rows missed, I finished the present solution

The flow is on the following URL JKISeason2-1 – KNIME Community Hub

  • Double line chart:
    • With normalized values
    • Values corrected with log(), since the Japanese Yen has much higher values than other currencies.
  • Table summarising all correlation results calculated

For some users who can speak Chinese, check out my video on youtube. Because the production of the video is a bit time consuming, I can’t guarantee that there will be another video like this in the future. Let me share this one first.

Welcome to JKI, let’s have fun together.
The workflow you posted, you need to set the Tag to “JKISeason2-1” ( # isn’t needed) to be considered as a participant.

@sryu
I marvelled at the level of visualisation and you probably solved this challenge faster than anyone else in the world.

@KNIMEST
Your praise is much appreciated. I posted earliest to KNIME Hub as you indicated. However, I was not satisfied with it, so I created ver2 and then posted it on this forum.

Here is my solution for JKISeason2-1: Challenge 01_Comparing Exchange Rates_LDF

It’s pretty simple compared to some of the others, but it was fun to crack out quickly. Thank you to everyone else who contributed. I learned a few things along the way…

This is my first post ever on the KNIME Hub. Really happy to give JKI a try.

Just an FYI - i learned a trick from @sryu 's solution and updated my solution, since it was not part of the dataviz itself. It allowed me to remove ~10 nodes though so i wanted to say thank you!
