String Manipulation (Multi Column) - Invalid type Identifier error message

Hello There, I tried to strip whitespace using String Manipulation (Multi Column) using exact instructions as this image I saw on Knime forum (hopefully you’re able to view what I pasted above) but I still get the Invalid type identifier for variable in line 1:n error message. I have date columns, renamed columns, columns with spaces and columns with brackets and I used this expression; strip($$CURRENTCOLUMN$$). Please what am I doing wrong?

Hi @Uchechukwu1, the strip function operates on string values, could that be the drawback?
