Hello @armingrudd
Can you tell me how to use CSS in Table View node. My idea is to auto fit cells before to use Report Pdf Writer and keep of course the good column width.
Thanks

Hi @Brain,
The topic that you are referring to is too old and there I was talking about the Table View (JavaScript) node to which you could pass a custom CSS as flow variable. You cannot use this node in the Reporting.
In KNIME Reporting you can use the new Table View which has the “Colulmn width” settings in it where you can switch to “Fit content” or “Fit content and header”.
Does it solve your problem or is it something else that brought the idea of custom CSS?
Sorry for jumping in this thread.
I’m having the same challenge to adapt the width of columns while using the KNIME reporting.
Yes, there are these settings to adjust a little bit the width. Unfortunately this checks only the first 10(?) rows to get the “correct” width. But when having longer content after the first 10(?) rows it does not really help
So from my understanding I see room for improvement for the reporting.
Thanks for your answer.
My problem is if i choose :
Fit content > i loose information concerning the name of columns header
Fit content header > i loose 2 colums
I have probably to choose or reduce …

Hey @Brain,
what would be the desired format you are looking for? Showing the entire column name but wrapping the column content? Or something entirely different?
Greetings,
Daniel
What I would like is a share of both. I want to maximize the width of the columns.
Thanks
Br
Yes, but as you already mentioned when you fit all column headers it is too little space. So how would you solve it? Which columns do get the full space and which don’t. Do you want to split the remaining space equally or prefer columns over others?
We are still looking on how to improve it automatically, but turns out that probably oftentimes I would need to manually change the column widths and save my chosen settings.
Greetings,
Daniel
