"The item with id ‘root’ is not a workflow group" Cannot export after memory upgrade

Hello, I do not know if this is the right way to post but here goes anyway. After they upgraded my laptop with more memory, I can’t seem to export nor view any of my files in local space.

A sollution I had was to reinstal knime to see if this would fix my problem but before I delete knime and reinstall it I want to export my file so I can work on it with a freshly new installed knime. Sadly I cannot export. Nor can I open a new workflow.

Could anyone help me find a solution?

Hello @Maikel_Raatjes,

When you say memory do you mean storage or RAM? (I would assume storage as it is unlikely to add more RAM on a laptop)

Did you replace your old SSD with a new one? All your data might still be on the old one. Go into File Explorer and make sure your old knime-workspace is still there will all the workflow data. You shouldn’t need to export all your workflows, just point the new KAP installation workspace at the old one for its default workspace.

Hello,

I also have the same problem.
I am not able to import a workflow, export a workflow, create a folder in the Local space (i get this error “The item with id ‘root’ is not a workflow group”), create a new workflow, nothing.
The only different thing is that today i did an update to 5.4.3.
I am able to load my recently created workflow from the “Recent” menu, it works perfectly fine, however i cannot do anything with it now.
My “desktop” is in OneDrive if that matters.
The export/import of workflows has never worked smoothly for me, but now there is something that i cannot fix.
Could you please help?

Thank you so much!

Margarita
