The use/import of dump files from Oracle server

Hi, everyone,

I got a dump file (oracle 12.1) from the BindingDB (https://www.bindingdb.org/bind/chemsearch/marvin/SDFdownload.jsp?all_download=yes), and I tried to use the content of this dump file for protein-compound connection. Does anyone know how to read such file in KNIME?

Thank you very much

Best,
Warren

Hi Warren,

those files can only be read by oracle itself (Source: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8326712/how-to-use-oracle-dmp-files)
In the Thread they also mention a workaround.

Hi Warren,

You’d need to import that file into an Oracle DB first. Then you would be able to use the standard KNIME Database nodes (after installing the Oracle drivers). However, since BindingDB supplies the data in other formats as well, it may be more convenient to use the sdf files instead: https://www.bindingdb.org/bind/chemsearch/marvin/SDFdownload.jsp?all_download=yes
