I know that similar issue was discussed previously (webkitgtk3 problem), but mine seems to be a bit easier and different.
Java views work perfectly well, components work as expected, but the icon of visual layout (and appropriate capabilities for sure) are for unknown reason unavailable to me.
Can you lease give me a hint how to solve this issue.

what KNIME version are you using? So you go inside Component and then can’t click on layout icon if I got it right? Can you share any printscreen?

Thank you very much for yout attention to my question.
I use KNIME 4.3.1
With a printscreen it’s a little complicated - it is not illustrative 
Components work as expected, but I can’t change components layout. The icon is inactive and I can’t “press” it.

that is printscreen from outside Component and from there you are not able to open layout editor. If you go inside component (“Control + double click” or right click on component and choose Component → Open) then you should be able to open above mentioned editor.
