Unable to install KNIME Geospatial Analytics Extensions

Hi fellow KNIME users,
I have been trying to install the Geospatial Analytics Extensions from KNIME Community Extensions - Other. However, the installation keeps on failing and throwing up the below error message.

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=KNIMEProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,sdl.harvard.geospatial.channel.bin.win32.x86_64,1.1.1.202306211527.
Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream

Any support and guidance is highly appreciated.

Hi @nilotpalc

Seems like you are the first one to encounter this specific issue in KNIME. From what I see online this EOF occurs in Java in quite some different scenario’s. Could there be some files already present in your installation folder creating a conflict? Which version are you on btw?

@tobias.koetter gives some guidance here to another user that also had a Geospatial issue.

Hi @ArjenEX ,
I am on KNIME 4.7.4.
I tried to remove the folders in the Features and Plugins folder. However, I still got the below error when I tried to install the Geospatial Extensions feature.

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=KNIMEProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,sdl.harvard.geospatial.channel.bin.win32.x86_64,1.1.1.202306211527.

Oke, then I don’t know. Hopefolly the KNIME devs can jump in and help you out.

Hi @nilotpalc,

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble installing the Geospatial extension.
This error is new to us, and we have tried again with a fresh KNIME 4.7.4 installation and could successfully install the Geospatial extension.

To narrow down possible causes for what you’re seeing: Are you maybe behind some kind of proxy? Does installing other extensions work?

Cheers,
Carsten

HI Carsten @carstenhaubold ,
Thanks for reaching out. I am behind an office proxy. However, I have updated the same in the network settings and my regular updates are working fine. I have only faced challenges in installing the Geospatial extensions.

Hi Carsten @carstenhaubold ,
I just realized that the backend team has introduced a separate proxy as part of an ongoing project and hence, we needed to update the same in our network settings. The issue was successfully resolved post updation of the new proxy settings.
