Views Nodes Not Configurable in 5.3

As my username indicates, I’m an absolute beginner with KNIME. While going through Chapter 3 of KNIME Beginner’s Luck, I am trying to do the Scatter Plot exercise that begins on page 100.

The problem is that when I open the Scatter Plot node’s Configure window, it’s blank. The same is true for all the default views nodes. The nodes under Views > JavaScript do show me their their Configure windows, just not the ones under Views. In the screenshot, the nodes that show me blank configuration windows have been circled.

I’m using KNIME 5.3 on Windows 10. What do you think may be going on?

I think given you are using Classic UI this might be the same issue:

Thank you very much for reporting the issue so quickly! It affects all node views and those node dialogs that have a node view preview; but ‘only’ in case the Analytics Platform has been directly started with the Classic UI (it remembers the UI it has been shutdown with). We will publish a fix as soon as possible. Till then you either use the Modern UI (it is not an issue there) or switch to the Modern UI and back again to make it work in the Classic UI, too.

I think switching to modern UI and then back to classic UI is a work around whilst a fix is in the pipeline
