I’m having trouble saving my KNIME workspace in Google Drive. I’m fairly new to KNIME, and whenever I try to set the workspace inside a GDrive-synced folder, it doesn’t work properly / I get errors. I’ve read here is pretty discouraged and I’m wondering is there any way to properly work from different PCs on the proyect (i.e. keeping the workspace local on each machine and syncing only the KNIME project folder(s))
From my experience keeping workspaces on OneDrive / Gdrive etc. is in general problematic and can lead to corrput workflows etc - that’s why I keep my “offline” and important things I have in my KNIME Hub (Pro or Team Plan). So that’s probably what I’d recommend - on a small scale you could just use your private space that comes with the free hub account…
@mwiegand shared one of his projects in below post, which takes care of backing up / syncing workspaces if I remember correctly:
As others have mentioned, putting the live workspace on GDrive is usually a recipe for corrupted files because of how KNIME constantly writes small files in the background. A better way to sync between PCs is to keep your workspace local on each machine, but use the ‘Export KNIME Workflow’ feature to save a .knwf file directly to your Drive when you’re done. It’s an extra step, but it keeps your data safe!
