Workspace Migration

I am trying to find documentation or suggestions for migrating a workspace from my user account on the local C drive to a mapped network drive, accessible from the same PC. I would like to migrate all of my workflows and assets to the network drive (which is backed up nightly) and then set my default workspace to that same location on the network drive.

It “seems” that I could simply copy the workspace to that location and then change my default workspace. I do not use absolute paths to data; in fact, almost every data pull is from a database server from a connector.

Thoughts/suggestions/help?

Brett

@bkramer66 Welcome to the KNIME forum. My thoughts:

  • make sure you keep all the files active and do not use some partial sync
  • make sure the drive does fully support special characters that knime does need and long path names. Especially one drive can have some problems
  • test with some workflows also about the speed
  • backup your work constantly

Knime works best when you workflows are on as fast drive on you local machine.
