Hello,

I saw a notification banner on KNIME AP 5.9.0 regarding the availability of an extension update. It turned out to be an update for XLS Formatting & Utlities. After the update though, I can no longer find the XLS Formatter (apply) node. Has this node been changed in the latest version?

@atiorile have you checked the installed extensions to use the XLS Formatters?

Yes, I checked that one. For now, I have gotten XLS Formatter (apply) back by installing (downgrading) XLS Formatting & Utilities version 1.6 instead of 1.7.

Thanks for sharing the Medium article. I’ll try OpenPyxl someday.

Hi, I’m having the same problem, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to revert to an older version.

Here are the steps to revert to an older version in KNIME:

  1. Click Preferences at the top right.
  2. Click the chevron arrow to the left of Install/Update > Available Software Sites.
  3. Click Add and put in:
    Name: KNIME Community Extensions (Trusted) 5.8
    Location: https://update.knime.com/community-contributions/trusted/5.8
  4. Click Add.
  5. Uncheck KNIME Community Extensions (Trusted).
  6. Click Apply and Close.
  7. Click Menu at the top right.
  8. Click Install extensions > already installed.
  9. Click XLS Formatting & Utilities > Uninstall…
  10. Once the uninstall has completed, go to Menu at the top right > Install extensions.
  11. Type filter text: XLS Formatting & Utilities.
  12. Check XLS Formatting & Utilities. This time, the version should be 1.6.0.
  13. Click Next > and complete the installation steps.
  14. After the installation is complete, go back to Preferences at the top right > click chevron arrow to the left of Install/Update > Available Software Sites.
  15. Check KNIME Community Extensions (Trusted).
  16. Uncheck KNIME Community Extensions (Trusted) 5.8.
  17. Click Apply and Close.
  18. Ignore all the notifications asking you to update XLS Formatting & Utilities.
