Don't save start / end nodes for variable connection

HI,

I try to optimize the workflows and their resource consumption as often as possible. Using the don’t save start / end notes becomes very handy when I am only interested in the result.

However, using the don’t save start / end nodes in conjunction with nodes that do not have an incoming data port, like the file reader nodes, is only possible with workarounds.

I’d like to suggest to extend the don’t save start / end nodes with variable ports, though.

With extending the nodes with variable ports, do you mean changing the input port to be optional?

yes partially. I’d suggest to add a flow variable port and make that and the data port optional.
