According to KNIME Help, this parameter “Sets the maximum number of threads that KNIME is using for executing nodes”. However, it does not seem to have much of an effect. I ran a workflow first with maxThreads = 8 and then with maxThreads = 2. In both cases all four CPU cores were running at 100%, no other processes were using CPU at the time. What would be the expected behaviour?
It depends a bit on which nodes you are using, as not all nodes necessarily respect this setting: A concern about number of core usage by KNIME during a Workflow execution.
