When we have user teaching, we encourage our use the templates we have prepared. We share them out of our private KNIME HUB instance.
Those templates will often have Components which we manage, plus Extensions.
For example, in this case a Component that helps create a secret for the user.
But when the user “Drag-and-Drop” from the KNIME HUB, the interface is being locked up.
The “Checking Link Updates” is waiting for “Extension install” and vise-versa.
Currently, we have to open Task Manager, kill KNIME.
Open KNIME. Install Extensions manually and then drag-drop the template in.

This is on 5.2.6
I have not tried other versions. We are migrating from Server to HUB, and the executors running on Server is 5.2.2.
So, I am kind-of locked to 5.2.x, until migration is over.

Would it be possible to share the knime.log file for its review? If so, please set the log level to DEBUG in the local Analytics Platform (under File->Preferences → KNIME) then reproduce this issue and collect the knime.log file (it is located by default here: <user’s workspce>.metadata\knime folder)

no need to open a support ticket. I was finally able to reproduce this issue. If you select the Remember my decision
in the Link Update
pop up windows then these two processes try to run simultaneously and froze the AP.
We opened a development ticket for the further analyses (its internal number is AP-24087, please note this is subject of change).
Until this behavior is not optimized you can try not selecting the “Remember my decision” in the "Link Update "pop up window.
